WP 3: Short-term mouse experiments

WP leader: UKE; Joerg Heeren, PhD (heeren@uke.de)

The objectives of this work package are:

• To execute carefully designed and standardized short-term (patho)physiological metabolic stress tests in a humanized mouse model under  different dietary conditions to provoke  or correct  the low HDL-C and hypertriglyceridemia to generate high-quality large “multi-omics” data  sets (using blood and all important  tissues) and kinetic data  from nanoparticle-based lipoprotein turnover  studies to extend, calibrate, validate  and test the computational model.

• This set of data will unravel mechanisms by which acute metabolic stress affects the disturbances of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism in MetS.
